Quick update.

Ttime-442

"Muallaf" is at Lembaga Penapisan Filem. Apparently, the verdict will be announced tomorrow.

Fendi Harjoh, the producer for "Talentime", delivered the print to them and asked that it be given at least a temporary stamp of approval, if not a full one.

He also asked that they got onto it immediately as each single day of delay would mean a delay in the delivery of much needed medicine and medical equipment to Gaza.

Inshaallah, the private corporate screening of "Muallaf" will be held next week, at Cineleisure, The Curve.

Please pray that it'll happen sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, we had a photo shoot of our main actors yesterday at Studio DL. Faiz Akbar is designing the poster, and David Lok is the photographer.

The picture above is NOT the "Talentime" poster. It was just something we were trying out.

Aren't my babies beautiful?

Leaving a comment as a Anonymous is already a sign of a pure coward!

I pray that muallaf will get its approvals and we get to watch it for the sake of charity at least!

The picture is superb and cant wait for the real deal to come on! :)

I'll pray that Muallaf will be approved. Dah tak sabar nak tengok.

The picture looks great!

Your "babies" are beautiful. But the poster isn't. Hmmm, maybe you can put a single hand holding the microphone or something like that. The current one looks just too crowded, no single visual cue to really hook passers-by to take a second look, u know?

So glad "Muallaf" is showing, but don't think got enough deep pockets personally to fork out for the charity movie ticket, bummer. Besides, all the people attending the charity movie event are quite well-to-do right? Will feel totally out of sorts.

Why Ms.Yasmin you published the anonymous' comment? Open for more debate and religious blood bath. Please let there be PEACE.

yasmin said...

kris, you're absolutely right. i'm deleting that comment.

yasmin said...

oh and kris, kan i dah kata tu bukan the poster we're going for?

DalcaLodeh said...

Yay best3!! saya minat Jac and Pamela!!:)

go for gold!

ps. loved muallaf :D

Kris Law said...

Amin, hallelujah! Now we can focus more on your films, (and how to conceptualize a better poster idea.) and less on the religious hobos. I do know the current poster is NOT what you're going for. I did read the last line:

"The picture above is NOT the "Talentime" poster. It was just something we were trying out."

PEACE be upon us... including to that "anonymous" fella, whoever he or she is.

it'a already 'tomorrow', kak min.

is the verdict out yet?

hi kak yasmin, best wishes to you on the screening of muallaf at the charity movie event. i'm sure there'll be many who're willing to support the event for the sake of the children and people of gaza. let us know if it is open to the public too. i think there'll be many who would want to do a bit of charity and at the same time, enjoy your works. all the best to you.

yasmin said...

they want to make 2 cuts. and in strange places, too!

1. the part where brother anthony said to the girls "you look like nuns."

2. where brian sniffed the bra.

we're making an appeal tomorrow. if they can approve "rempit" with all its debauchery, they can approve "muallaf", for heaven's sake!

ZARA 札拉 [사랑해~] said...

Salam Kak Min..

they cut the 2 scenes?

I can't see the reason why~

haiz..anyway, Alhamdulillah you can show it for charity~

May Allah bless u Kak Min, and your effort to help the others.

At last, a long awaited Muallaf will be screened in local cinemas!!! Btw, Ms.Yasmin please produce a lot more movies. I promise I will watch all your movies!!!! Long live the one and only Yasmin Ahmad!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kee Heritage said...

errr... so what's the verdict? when can i watch muallaf in local cinema?

moviefan said...

yasmin,

The two cuts is a small sacrifice to show your picture. It should not deduct anything from the movie for those who haven't seen the "directors cut". Allow them and let more see the movie.

Diran said...

im so sorry i didnt comment for so long....not that you would have noticed, but thats not the point here.

I would love to watch the screening of Muallaf and Talentime, in Penang. I dont know whether it will ever be showed here. But I certainly do hope so. I hope there are no cuts on the movie too. If there are isit possible for you to open anothr website or on this website itself and put that edited scene. At least we will know about it. And Kak Min, I want to know, and I believe most of us here do, how is it that we can get into your roles. We would love to join, is there any audition or something? How can we be in your movies? I hope this may not sound rude or invasive or anything similar. Its just that time and time again, I think many Malaysians wants to be part of your film. I dont know whether to put it as far as to say that there isnt seem to be a chance. But then again, there isnt seem a gate that is open for us to enter. I hope that you can tell us how and what not.

I wish you all the best in your screenings and I hope you receive all the awards that you should humbly recieve. Muax. Love ya!

xoxo.

assalamualaikum Kak Min,
saya rasa sedih kalau kene potong 2 scenes...filem MAUT kene potong 11 scenes! saya tak tahulah mcm mana jalan ceritanya nanti. plan nak tgk jumaat ni...tempat keje saya mana ada panggung wayang...2 jam ke kuantan 3 jam ke JB yang paling dekat...then, petang tadi baru tgk BUDAK KELANTAN. best cerita tu... mcm mana watak Jahar akan buat suspen aje...
as i remember,
Selamat Maju Jaya Kak Min.
saya selalu singgah sini tp kalau kita takde mende nak cakap baik jgn cakap apa apa kan? Pada yang Annonymous tu...bawak2 la bersabar...
